Agata Hofman

Agata Hofman (age 32) is an educator who has been teaching kids since 1990. She initiated the Polish Academy of Kids (PAK), which is the first International University run by kids (akademiadzieci.edu.pl). PAK is run by a non-profit organization and it currently caters to over 6000 children in Poland and the Netherlands. Her work is focused on building new models of education introducing e.g. educational astronomy, microbiology and multilingual education into teaching for very young learners (age 2). Her approach towards teaching is based on free play and an individual approach towards kids’ scientific passions, using some elements of ICT tools. She also works for the British Journal of Educational Technology as a reviewer and is a board member of the Games Research Association of Poland, the first academic ludological society in Poland. Currently she works as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Psychology of the University of Gdańsk, bringing together ICT, education and psychology. She is also the mother of five multilingual kids.
